Welcome to Clay Escapes where every piece of pottery is an original. Since 1994 Pat and Margie have been creating wheel thrown functional and decorative pottery.  With the foundation of college ceramic courses and workshop experiences they have been able to develop their own individual styles.

Margie is inspired by nature, especially trees.  Integrating geometric shapes on functional pieces is one of her specialities.  Hand carving luminaries and incising designs are two of her favorite parts of the pottery process.

Pat's signature starfish pieces are her most popular items.  Lifelike starfish whimsically cling to mugs, chip and dips, lamps, bowls and platters. She especially enjoys the wheel throwing process. 

Pat and Margie have exhibited their work locally at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, The Artists Gallery and Blue Skies Gallery.
